As reported by Sky Sports News, Real Madrid have already contacted representatives of former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea.

De Gea has tons of experience at top level and represents a smart replacement for Courtois. Despite his reputation towards the end at United, he is still a top keeper.CONTINUE READING

Real Madrid have now made contact with his reps to see if a deal can be done. The sticking point may be his wage. De Gea was on over £300,000-a month at United.

Courtois is set to miss around 9 months with his ACL injury and that would represent some major game time for De Gea. It’s an opportunity he may not be able to refuse. De Gea and option for Madrid and discussions have begun.

Liverpool set to sign Moises Caicedo

Liverpool have got a medical planned for Moises Caicedo on Friday according to David Ornstein. The deal is set to be wrapped up at some point on Friday after Liverpool offered more money then Chelsea for the 21-year-old.

A fee which will be worth £110 million is what Liverpool bid whereas Chelsea offered £10 million less as Brighton gave both sides a midnight deadline. So due to this the Ecuadorian international will be moving to Merseyside to join up with Jurgen Klopp.

Personal terms won’t be a problem and will be very easy to agree on between Caicedo and Liverpool.

Chelsea had been chasing Caicedo all summer but their move was hijacked and now they are showing interest in Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia. Liverpool had seemingly made Lavia their top target and had three bids rejected but instead opted to make history by breaking the English transfer record for Caicedo.

He will need to get up to speed at Liverpool so as it stands his former Brighton teammate is likely to play in the defensive midfield role.

If a deal is done in time though Liverpool could include him in their squad on Sunday even though that is doubtful.

With just a month left in the transfer window it’ll be interesting to see if Liverpool have any funds left for more signings with a defender also seen as a priority this summer.

Man Utd drop major Mason Greenwood HINT

Manchester United have dropped the strongest suggestion yet that they are seriously considering a return for Mason Greenwood as he fights to regain fitness after 18 months out of the game, while former Old Trafford No.9 Wout Weghorst has found a new club.

Man Utd centre forwards have been involved in a persistent soap opera since Greenwood was charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault at the beginning of 2022.

These were subsequently dropped but in the interim, the Red Devils have seen Cristiano Ronaldo depart following an incredible broadside on the club, with Weghorst stepping in as his successor in an unsuccessful six-month loan from Burnley.

Ahead of the 2023/24 season, Greenwood remains frozen out of the picture at Man Utd following an internal investigation, the result of which is set to be made public later this week.

In the meantime, Greenwood is doing personal training sessions with a former junior coach in public parks.

United do, at least, seem open to the 21-year-old once-capped England international returning to the fold, with the Manchester Evening News reporting that the club are receiving data from these sessions.
