Buhari wasted Nigeria’s time for eight years, appointed people who failed – Shehu Sani

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has described the immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari as the worst ruler in the history of Nigeria.

He described President Buhari’s 8-year tenure as a “waste.”

Sani made the claims on Sunday, in Abuja, during the launch of the book, ‘The Nigerian Dream’ written by activist, Moses Paul.

The rights activist said, “[Muhammadu] Buhari wasted Nigeria’s time for eight years. And he appointed people who failed and he kept on extending their period in office. That is very wrong.

“He has accused all [previous] governments of corruption. All the ills of Nigeria, he accused all the previous governments [ of being responsible for them]. Yet, his government has proven the worst in the history of Nigeria.”

Tinubu Rejects EU Report, Says Elections Credible

President Bola Tinubu has rejected the report of the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU-EOM), describing it as “a product of a poorly done desk job.”

He said the EU did not provide any substantial evidence ble enough to question the integrity of the 2023 election outcomes.

Presidential spokesperson Dele Alake stated this position in a statement on Sunday.

Nigeria held its general election in February and March. Supplementary elections were also held in April.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, Mr Tinubu defeated 17 other candidates to emerge winner and was inaugurated on 29 May.

His victory is however being challenged in court by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.

Don’t Associate Your Failure To Makinde – PDP Tells Folarin

The Oyo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has advised the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last general elections, Teslim Folarin, not to associate his failure in the last governorship poll with the state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde.

The party made this disclosure on Monday while reacting to a recent statement credited to Folarin.

China warships arrive Nigeria

Three Chinese warships have arrived the Port of Lagos with nearly a battalion of soldiers with the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria saying the visit was to ensure the improvement of diplomatic relations between Nigeria and China.

Speaking at a ceremony to receive the vessels, the Chinese Ambassador, CUI Jianchun,said the relations between the two countries have deepened and efforts were on to broaden the military relations between the two countries.

He said that the visit of the ships demonstrated the harmony between Nigeria and China, adding that the visit of the warships was for peace, especially as Nigeria and China could work together for peace in the sub-region and for the international community.He said that the Nigerian military, and China’s PLA, could work together to overcome obstacles plaguing the two countries and deepen the relations between both countries’ navies.

He said, “the visit is to further deepen the relationship the two countries have with one another and also seek to strengthen and improve our relationship and cooperation with each other.

“This visit demonstrates the harmony and symphony between Nigeria and China,” he said.
