Chief Eze Chukwuwemeka Eze, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers, has advised the state Governor, Similanayi Fubara, to take complete control of running the affairs of the state.

In a statement on Monday, Eze expressed worry over what he described as the immediate past governor, Nyesom Wike’s overbearing influence in the state’s governance despite being out of power in the state.

“Mr Siminialayi Fubara must be alarmed that he remains responsible and accountable for every action taken on behalf of the state from May 29, 2023, when he assumed office. It is immaterial whether such actions are taken by him or his overlord, Wike,” Eze said.

He also stressed that “Wike reappointed some commissioners” in his cabinet to continue working with Governor Fubara.

Politics Nigeria recalls that Wike, at the inauguration of the new Fubara administration, said he would not interfere in the affairs of the state.
