According to information obtained by Naija News, South East Revival Group (SERG), a pan-Igbo sociopolitical pressure group, has joined the list of organizations that have officially endorsed Obi and his running mate Yusuf Datti Baba- Ahmed in the presidential campaign……..Continue Reading

The group argues that Nigerians should ignore the diversionary reasons presented by a handful of self- centered elites in the South East who appear opposed to Obi’ s candidature.
In a statement released by the SERG and signed by its president and national coordinator, Chief Willy Ezugwu, the organisation thanked everyone who supported Obi’ s presidential campaign and expressed hope for the future.
The group defended its decision to support Obi’ s candidature, stating that it did so out of respect for the country’ s best interests and not because of any ethnic considerations.
The SERG said, ” We, therefore, hail the Nigerian people who saw the light at the end of the tunnel and chose to take the difficult path to secure a better tomorrow for the countrymen and women born and yet to be born. “
As Mr. Obi is not the only Igbo man running for president in 2023, the SERG contends that our support for him and Yusuf Datti Baba- Ahmed has nothing to do with ethics. We support a decision that the Nigerian people have already made.
” This is because Nigeria requires a reset in order to run optimally and effectively. ” The Nigerian president elected by Peter Obi exemplifies this ideal.
To provide Nigeria with the kind of leadership that has eluded us for a very long time, we urge all Nigerians and people of good conscience throughout the world to continue supporting Mr. Peter Obi, the candidate chosen by the Nigerian people.
” Peter Obi is the only presidential candidate who, at the risk of his life, travelled to Borno South in Borno State in the North East to see and feel the pulse of the people in the insurgency- ravaged region, braving security obstacles to demonstrate his outstanding love for the country.

” Peter Obi indicated that he believed an individual could only die once. He also demonstrated his devotion to Nigeria and the cohesion of the most populous nation on the African continent by refusing to back down in the face of demands not to visit Southern Borno.
After paying salaries, all executed contracts, pensions, and gratuities, he was the only governor in recent history to leave at least N75 billion for his successor after paying all executed contracts, pensions, and gratuities.
” Nigeria will emerge from the woods if Peter Obi is given the opportunity to rebuild the nation by reinventing its leadership, ” according to the president.
At this time, we ask all Nigerians to dismiss the antics of the insignificant minority and the elitist voices in the South East who are opposed to Peter Obi, since elections are determined by the majority vote.
The statement continues, ” In the South East, Igbos’ support for Peter Obi will be unambiguously shown at the polls throughout the South Eastern states and the entire nation on Saturday, when the majority will have their way and the minority will have their say. “
The group also thanked the Northern APC Christian leaders, the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Afenaere, the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum (SMBLF), the African Democratic Party (ADC), and Nigerian women and youth for their support of Obi’ s vision for a new Nigeria.
