Kefas constitutes 14-man committee

In a bid to resolve the lingering leadership tussle in the Taraba State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Agbu Kefas has constituted a Special Committee to look into the crisis.
Crisis erupted in the party shortly after the March 28 governorship election in the state following the appointment of Alhaji Abubakar Bawa as substantive chairman of the party.
The chairmanship position became vacant when Kefas resigned to contest the PDP governorship primaries which he won and eventually emerged governor.
However, deputy chairman of the party, Alhaji Inuwa Bakari who stepped in as acting chairman and led the party to victory in the general election proceeded to Federal High Court, Jalingo to challenge the appointment of Bawa as chairman of the party.
Military destroys 30 illegal refineries

Defence Headquarters (DHQ) says troops of Joint Task Force tion DELTA SAFE has uncovered and destroyed 30 Illegal refining sites and arrested 42 economic saboteurs in three weeks operations.
This was contained in a text brief of the defence media operations read by Brig-gen Abdullahi Ibrahim on troops operations covering between 15 June – 6 July 2023.
He said the troops in an effort to ensuring a safe and peaceful environment for business activities to strive in the South South zone of the country conducted patrols, raids, swamp buggy and anti-illegal oil bunkering operations in the creeks, waterways, high seas, roads, towns and cities of Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers and Cross River States respectively.
He said the operations were aimed at denying criminal elements freedom of action.
APC Non-serving senators task 10th senate on unity

An affiliation of former lawmakers named, 104 APC Non-serving Senators Group, has urged members of the 10th Senate to foster unity within their fold.
They also commended the Senate President Godswill Akpabio for reinforcing the spirit of democracy in the Senate, while commending him for constituting leadership of the 10th Senate.
They said the strategic composition of the principal offices reflects a remarkable display of leadership, inclusivity and commitment to the overall progress and welfare of our great nation.
The convener of the group, Sen Basheer Lado, in a statement issued to LEADERSHIP said, the group is pleased to extend its heartfelt commendation and support to Senator Akpabio for his exemplary efforts which formed the leadership of the 10th Senate.
NDDC seeks partnership with donor agencies, executes 700 projects

Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC), has craved the partnership of more donor agencies for sustainable development in the Niger Delta region.
This is as the commission announced that it has built over 5,000 kilometres of roads and 42 bridges in the Niger Delta region.
The NDDC has completed over 7000 projects in the Niger Delta region valued at over N1.6trn and as we speak now we have over 3000 projects that are ongoing value at over N1.5trn, because there are projects that we have just started an there are projects were abandoned due to lack of performance and so on and so forth, NDDC managing director Samuel Ogbuku made the disclosure yesterday during at the commission’s policy dialogue with development partners in Abuja.
