Mallam Ahmed Moyosore (Moyo) Jaji, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and former Executive Secretary of Ojodu Local Council Development Area, has expressed that the courts have confirmed the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) authority to determine the process of result declaration.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun paper, Jaji shared his views on the ongoing challenge to the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu by the presidential candidates of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, at the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja.

Jaji acknowledged that there may be accusations of bias due to his affiliation with the All Progressives Congress (APC), but he believed that INEC had outsmarted the politicians. He further explained that the courts have affirmed INEC’s freedom to decide the how, when, and manner of declaring election results.

According to intelligence reports, there were suspicions of attempts by certain political parties to manipulate the bimodal voter accreditation system (BVAS) in a way that would favor their interests by presenting different results from what INEC uploaded to the IRev system.
