El- Rufai claimed in an interview with BBC Hausa that APC Governors oppose the programme not because they are looking to buy votes but rather because it has brought about a tremendous deal of suffering for Nigerians.
” We evaluated this policy and the difficulty it caused individuals as well as the animosity Nigerians formed towards the APC, ” he said. ” Nigerians are blaming the APC and the people who presented the policy did it to make our party lose in the election. “

Is it the first day that votes can be bought? Why wasn’ t the currency redesign done at the time of its introduction? Why now now? Second, is naira the only currency that can be used to buy votes? You can either buy it with dollars, euros, or sefa, or you can give the voters food.
” You have a few options for purchasing votes at your disposal. While money won’ t be completely absent from politics, its effect can be reduced.
” Even though money is being spent to buy votes, we are not against this method. I solemnly swear to God that we oppose it because we have observed how severely it harms people, not because it will affect the outcome of the elections.
