A lawyer, Johnmary Maduakolam, has threatened to sue the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, and the management of the Board should they fail to tender an apology to Anambra pupil, Mmesoma Ejikeme.

JAMB in a statement on Sunday evening accused Mmesoma of manually inflating her UTME result from 249 to 362 and used her manually increased score to attract a N3m scholarship from Innoson Motors.

Bola Tinubu Orders Ribadu, Service Chiefs To Tackle Insecurity

President Bola Tinubu, on Monday in Abuja, urged the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, Service Chiefs, and the Inspector-General of Police to work as a team to address insecurity.

Tinubu also assured them of his 100 percent support, considering the enormity of the work expected of them.

“He told us that we must work as a team and that there’s work to be done,” Ribadu told State House Correspondents after a closed-door meeting with the President and Service Chiefs at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

Absence Of Witness Stalls Tribunal Hearing In Lagos LP Candidate, Rhodes-Vivour’s Petition Against Gov Sanwo-olu

The petition filed by the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, against the victory of Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy during the 2023 elections has been stalled, following the absence of the petitioner’s witness before the Election Petition Tribunal, presided over by Justice Arum Ashom.

So far, Rhodes-Vivour has called 10 witnesses to testify in support of his petition. The 11th witness would have appeared on Monday.

Journalists Barred From Covering Senate Plenary

The sergeant-at-arms of the national assembly on Tuesday prevented reporters from covering senate plenary.

No reason was given. However, a sergeant-at-arms barricaded the door leading to the gallery, from where the public and journalists observe proceedings.

A monitor in the press centre and online streaming platforms, as well as a Twitter feed for live updates of the upper legislative chamber, were also not working.
