The new IGP has given him two weeks to figure out modalities and how to perfect everything, according to Tunji Alapinni, who also added that he won’t be surprised if the new IGP has something up his sleeve because he is a person he has known for years and who is always meticulous in his work.

The new Inspector General of Police, he said, “we cannot judge him until we see how he performs. IGP Abubakar, Hafiz Ringim, and all previous IGs have all stated the same thing, therefore I believe it has become a repeating theme for the time being. If I recall correctly, when they say the majority of those things, they usually mention that they want to get rid of the mobile police officers who are escorting VIPs, and it was because of this that the special protection unit (SPU) was established. You’ll see that the SPU is wearing a blue barrette, whereas the mobile police are wearing green barrettes. That was the ostensible justification for setting it up, but in reality, those people possess both.
