Oseni Rufai, a journalist, has stated that individuals comparing President Bola Tinubu’s big convoy during his visit to Lagos State to Peter Obi’s convoy during the presidential campaign are simply arguing without evidence.
According to Oseni Rufai, the difference between the two occurrences is that Bola Tinubu is Nigeria’s president, and the country’s financial situation requires government officials to reduce the cost of governance.
Oseni Rufai went on to say that Peter Obi’s convoy, which was captured on camera, was the convoy he utilized during the campaign, and as such, he was not utilizing public funds to pay for such a long convoy.
Oseni Rufai also revealed that in the Peter Obi convoy video, some of the automobiles in his convoy were ordinary cars belonging to his followers, which explains why the convoy was so long.
It is worth noting that Oseni Rufai stated that the extended convoy witnessed during Bola Tinubu’s visit to Lagos State did not belong solely to President Bola Tinubu. However, Oseni Rufai stated that the majority of the cars belonged to serving government employees, and the size of the convoy demonstrates the need to lower governance costs.
