Other ethnic groups are allegedly keeping a watch on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s conduct, according to Segun Sowunmi, a PDP contender for governor in Ogun State’s 2023 election.
During a meeting with Yoruba media professionals, he said that the President had chosen Yoruba people for significant positions of governance. In order to avoid the mistakes of his antecedent, he claims Tinubu must unify everyone under his regime.
He said, “Let’s see how the Yoruba will handle it; they already have it.” All other ethnic groups, including the Hausa and Igbo, are searching. The Chief of Army Staff, the IG, the Customs CG, and the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria are all Yoruba men. They won’t be surprised if one of them also serves as finance minister. Since we are so close to them, I can confirm that they are keeping an eye on everything Tinubu does.
