According to PUNCH, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy, Dele Alake, stated on Saturday in Lagos that President Bola Tinubu is ready to deliver leadership on both the domestic and international levels.
According to Alake, the rest of Africa looks to Nigeria for leadership.
Abiodun Oladunjoye, State House Director of Information, confirmed this in a statement issued on Saturday headed ‘African Issues: President Tinubu ready to take up the gauntlet, says Dele Alake.’
Tinubu, according to Alake, realises that other African countries look to Nigeria for leadership. As a result, he is willing to accept the challenge of setting a good example.
“Everybody is looking up to Nigeria, especially in Africa and the ECOWAS region, and President Tinubu is ready to take up the gauntlet,” Alake told State House media when President Umaro Embaló of Guinea Bissau paid a visit to President Tinubu at his Ikoyi house in Lagos.
He stated that, while both men met individually, President Embaló took advantage of the opportunity to express his solidarity and willingness to work with Nigeria under Tinubu’s leadership.
Alake disclosed that Saturday’s visit also allowed Embaló, who is presently the Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, to strengthen ties between the two countries.
The engagement, according to Alake, is a “recommended sign of things to come in the entire West African region.”
