The former senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has reacted to the protest that took place at European Union Mission Secretariat in Abuja recently. In a post on his verified Twitter handle, the former lawmaker make mockery of the protesters and termed them as “consciecsless Abuja protest marchants.” stressing further, he opined that the report is what supposed to guide us to achieve a liveable democratic environment.
Meanwhile, it could be recalled that the European Union Observation Mission sent Nigeria during the February 25, 2023 had in their report exposed some political irregularities and other non compliance. The report which tagged the former minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo and Femi Fani Kayode as peddlers of fake news, hate speech during the period of the election. The report has also highlighted the character some leading party candidates displayed.
However, the ruling party purportedly disagreed with the EU on their reports stating emphatically that it is focused on victimising the emergence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, according to Keyamo while responding to the said report. Moreover, some protesters were spotted at the EU secretariat in Abuja displaying placards with different inscription on it disputing the EU’s report. In view of this, Sani who also canvass for good governance in the country had termed the protester as noise makers who are solely selfish in their stance to undermine a report that tends to promoting a generally acceptable democracy in Nigeria.
