Concerned by the circumstances, they questioned why Okolie, who claimed to be the baby’s intermediary, could not breastfeed the child if it were her own biological offspring.

Growing suspicion quickly spread among the passengers, leading to a heated confrontation with Okolie, who was on the verge of being subjected to vigilante justice.

However, in a swift and heroic intervention, RRS operatives arrived at the scene, diffusing the escalating tension and rescuing both Okolie and the distraught baby.

Preliminary investigations following the rescue operation led to the arrest of the mother of the baby, Maria Ahmadu, aged 26.

The RRS commander, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, transferred the suspects and the baby to the capable hands of the Gender Unit of the Command for further investigation and subsequent prosecution.
