Nigerian Man Arrested With 178 Grams Of Cocaine

Task Force team arrested Ngwuchukwu Godwin Ifeanyi (32) near Huda Park in Vanasthalipuram in the early hours of Saturday.

The team seized 24 grams of cocaine in his possession and subsequently the team raided his rented house at LIG colony in Vanasthalipuram.

“From his house, we seized 154 grams of cocaine,” excise superintendent K Pradeep Rao said. “About five months ago, he was arrested by Dhoolpet excise team for peddling in cocaine. Currently, he is out on bail in that case,” Rap said.

During the interrogation, the accused confessed to have brought the cocaine from a Bengaluru-based supplier. Godwin picked up the contraband from the supplier and reached Hyderabad in a private bus. As he was waiting to meet a prospective customer, the excise team swooped in on him.

Excise officials said that Godwin came to India in 2015 on a student visa and joined a pharmacy college in AP’s Kakinada. After a few years, he shifted to Hyderabad and started indulging in narcotics peddling.

A cellphone and ₹38,000 cash were also recovered from the accused.
