According to a news that was published by the LEADERSHIP paper online this morning, it was reported that the immediate past member of the House of Representatives, who represented the Shendam/Quaan-Pan/Mikang Constituency, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Alphonsus Komsol, in an interview with Leadership paper correspondent, has spoken on the some of the crisis brewing in the Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress.
During the interview, Komsol was told that he claimed that he is one of the few politicians from Plateau State, who are trusted allies of President Bola Tinubu, as he was asked the reason he said that.
While he was talking, he said, “Absolutely. I have known President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for almost twenty years now, ever since he was the Governor of Lagos State. My first encounter with him and what he did amazed me so much that I vowed to be his disciple forever. It was during the arrest and detention of Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong, who was the then Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, and the immediate past Governor of the state by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).”
Komsol said that the former Governor, Joshua Dariye, had dispatched him and a few other people to Lagos State to do everything possible to secure Lalong’s release but, the bail conditions that were given were very stringent.
He said, “However, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was the Governor of the state on the platform of an opposition party, the Alliance for Democracy, came to our rescue and he even gave us the title documents of properties for Lalong to be released, after he had spent about 40 days in the EFCC custody.”
He said that for him, when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declared his interest in contesting for Presidency, it was a very easy decision for him (Komsol) to make, and that was to support Bola Tinubu to the end, no matter whose ox is gored, even if he (Komsol) was going to be the last man standing.
