According to a news that was published by the Leadership Newspaper online this morning, it was reported that a beggar, who stays at Waff Road, happens to be a very popular street within Kaduna metropolis which harbours the NNDC Mall, the NUJ House Kaduna State chapter and command guest house, has narrated what led her into begging for money.

She said, “I am from Jigawa State. Bandits killed my husband in my presence and threw his body in a well. I fled from my village in Jigawa because I did not want to keep seeing the well where my husband’s corpse was deposited.”

It was reported that her case is so pathetic that, she does not want to recall the incident that took her to the streets as a beggar for survival.

“A woman, out of kindness, offered me a job sweeping her shop, which is located across from where I reside in the beggars’ community. My payment for this work is a daily meal for both myself and my daughter.”

“As a widow living on the streets, life has been incredibly challenging. The struggle to find food and provide for my daughter has been a constant burden.”

“I desire to establish a permanent residence here in Kaduna, as I am reluctant to return to Jigawa State due to the traumatic circumstances surrounding my husband’s death. I wish to avoid any further hardship or emotional distress.”………………………CONTINUE READING
