Ayodele Fayose, the former Governor of Ekiti State, has stated that he will be the first to criticize President Bola Tinubu if he fails to fulfill his campaign promises. Fayose made these remarks after meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Despite expressing his support for the current administration, Fayose assured Nigerians that he would not hesitate to hold Tinubu accountable if he does not deliver on his commitments.
Fayose praised Tinubu’s actions since the government’s inauguration on May 29 and expressed optimism that the current administration would provide the desired governance to the country. However, he emphasized that if Tinubu reneges on his promises made during the campaign, he will not shy away from speaking out. Fayose asserted that he is not timid and is willing to face challenges head-on.
Highlighting his maturity and independence, Fayose stated that he does not flatter or praise individuals merely to gain favor. He emphasized that based on his observation and the actions he has witnessed, he believes that Tinubu genuinely has the best interests of Nigeria at heart.
