Dele Farotimi, a retired Nigerian lawyer, expressed his skepticism about the announced election results during an interview. He criticized the INEC Chairman’s inability to explain the methodology used to determine the results, which contradicted the information held by most party agents. Additionally, Farotimi revealed that the uploading of presidential election results on the designated portal was incomplete, further undermining the integrity of the election. He highlighted that witnesses present during the process have affirmed the compromised nature of the election, raising significant concerns about its fairness and credibility.

During an interview with Channels Television, Dele Farotimi, a retired Nigerian lawyer, raised concerns about the transparency and integrity of the recently announced election results. He stated that the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is unable to provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the methodology used to arrive at the announced results. According to Farotimi, these results do not align with the information held by most party agents.

According to him, “What we know as a fact is that Yakubu cannot rationally explain to anybody in the world how he arrived at the result that he announced because what we have is at variance with what they’re even busy uploading in most cases, even though they have not even finished uploading up until today, yet the winner was declared by INEC. The integrity of that election has been undermined and compromised almost beyond repair by INEC because what it is uploading on its portal, what individuals took away at Form EC8 A, the agent, they’re not consistent.”

Furthermore, Farotimi revealed that INEC failed to complete the uploading of the election results on their designated portal before declaring the winner of the election. He noted that while the results for the House of Representatives and Senate were uploaded successfully, the presidential election results encountered issues. He strongly asserted that the integrity of the presidential election had been significantly compromised by INEC, to an extent that might be difficult to rectify.

Farotimi emphasized that several witnesses present during the election process have attested to the fact that the entire process was undermined and compromised. He pointed out that their testimonies corroborate the concerns raised regarding the integrity of the election. It is evident that the flaws in the process have cast doubt on the credibility and fairness of the election, thereby eroding public trust in INEC and its ability to conduct free and fair elections.
