Former staunch advocate of the Labour Party, Retired Colonel Chinyere Obi, expressed deep regret for her support of the party during the 2023 general elections. According to her, if she had known, she would have shown her support for Bola Tinubu, who was the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at that time.

She made this statement at a press conference yesterday in Abuja, where she lament that she spent over N5 million to convicted voters to elect her candidate (LP Presidential candidate)

In his own words, Chinyere Obi said “I devoted myself to the cause of the Labour Party. As the election drew near, Julius Abure instructed us to reconnect with our roots and cast our votes accordingly. Consequently, in November, I returned to my hometown and launched an extensive grassroots campaign, investing approximately N5 million to support Peter Obi.”

“If there is a curse to be bestowed upon someone at the age of 75, I am directing that curse towards them. You might recall that last year, I challenged Tinubu and Atiku to an 8-kilometer walk. I am well aware of the substantial amount of money I spent in the Eastern region

“The most distressing part of this ordeal is that I was shot in the leg, and none of the party leaders reached out to me. I even contacted Peter Obi, but received no assistance. I spent three months in the hospital, enduring the agony in solitude.”
