Enugu State Governor Peter Mba has appointed Ladi Akeredolu-Ale of Channels Television as Managing Director of Enugu State Broadcasting Service (ESBS).

According to Punch, Before his appointment, Akeredolu-Ale was the Controller of Current Affairs at Channels Television headquarters in Lagos State.

His appointment was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, in Enugu on Tuesday.

Onyia said the veteran journalist is expected to bring over 30 years of journalism experience to the state broadcaster.

This, he said, will drive a media revolution, prompt radical reforms in media innovation and creativity, and transform the state media service into one of the highest revenue-generating organizations in the state.

He is the recipient of the Nigerian Media Merit Award for TV Presenter and Reporter of the Year in 2001, the Media Excellence Diamond Award for Reporter of the Year in 2004, and the Nigerian Media Merit Award Program Presenter of the Year in 2019.

He was also the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Ondo State Radio and Television Corporation from March 2009 to February 2017.”

Akeredolu Ale holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sociology from the University of Ilorin and the University of Lagos in 1992 and 1998, respectively.

Akeredolu Ale is a 2011 graduate of the Chief Executive Officer Program at the Lagos Business School.
