The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has received a visit from the newly elected Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
Remember that the APC leadership allocated the Senate presidency to the South-South geopolitical zone and chose Senator Godswill Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom and the most recent minister of Niger Delta Affairs, as the favoured candidate of the governing party. Abdulaziz Yari, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, and many other federal legislators were not pleased with this development.

The former governor of Akwa Ibom was re-elected as president of the 10th Senate after receiving 63 votes, beating Senator Yari, who received 46 votes, according to Channels Television on its verified Twitter page.
Senator Godswill Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa-Ibom State, responded after meeting Abdullahi Adamu by saying, “We are come to pay Sallah honour to a man of dignity. to show respect to those who deserve it. We appreciate the contribution you made to the success of the National Assembly leadership elections on behalf of the party leadership and the National Working Committee (NWC). We also give thanks to Almighty Allah for preserving your life, and we ask that He do so in order to allow you to continue making contributions to our nation’s young development.
The 10th National Assembly, he said, “will support the President Bola Tinubu-led administration’s success. In the sake of general national peace, unity, and development, we shall put legislation in place to promote the Renewed Hope objective of this government.
