The conclusion of the most recent court hearing at the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja was disclosed in a tweet by Kenneth Okonkwo, who also happens to be the official spokesman for the Labour Party’s presidential campaign committee for the 2023 election.
In a message he sent on Twitter, he claimed that Michael Bamidele, one of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s attorneys, had identified all the papers that had been submitted and had also submitted an ECOWAS report on the conduct of the 2023 presidential election.
However, the ECOWAS report submitted by the respondent also stated that there had been deaths of Nigerians and other acts of violence during the election.
They introduced Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, a legislator and attorney who also claims to be admitted to the New York, USA Bar, as their first witness. He recognised all the papers offered as evidence and argued them in his witness statement under oath.
In his subsequent speech, he said, “They tendered the ECOWAS Report on the Election, and the Petitioners tendered the EU Report on the Election.” According to paragraph 17 of the ECOWAS Report submitted by the Respondents, violence and the murder of Labour Party members and Nigerians marred the election.
