Argentina Faces Australia And The Netherlands Faces The USA On Saturday
Qatar 2022 World Cup round-of-16 matches start on Saturday with two fixtures. Argentina entertains Australia while the Netherlands face the USA.
Netherlands vs. USA (Khalifa International Stadium) kicks off at 16:00 West African Standard Time.
All five previous meetings between the Netherlands and the USA have been friendly; the Netherlands won the first four, with the USA winning the most recent encounter in 2015.
But since a 3-2 loss to Brazil in the 1994 quarterfinal, the Netherlands are unbeaten in their last 19 World Cup games against non-European nations. However, the USA are winless in their last 11 World Cup games against European nations (D6 L5) since beating Portugal 3-2 in 2002.

Australia defeated Denmark on Wednesday, four hours before Argentina defeated Poland to take first place in their group. La Albicelestes took the field for the knockout game less than 48 hours after the Socceroos’ most recent rest period.
The most likely candidate to replace Julian Alvarez is Lautaro Martinez; however, Enzo Fernandez is also vying for a start. Alexis MacAllister should remain there after scoring.
Australia is not currently concerned about any new injuries. Despite Nathaniel Atkinson’s ongoing recovery from injury, Milos Degenek showed promise against Denmark and is set to keep his job.

This is the first meeting between Argentina and Australia since a September 2007 friendly, won 1-0 by Argentina thanks to a goal from Martin Demichelis. This is their first ever meeting at the World Cup.
But Australia’s only win over Argentina in seven meetings was back in July 1988 in the Australia Bicentenary Gold Cup.
