A few hours ago, lawyers representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential flag bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar at the ongoing Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in the nation’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have come out to express satisfaction on the evidence tendered by a witness during Monday’s court proceedings.

While addressing a cross-section of journalists outside the tribunal, Senior Advocate, and lead counsel to the PDP, Chris Uche (SAN) revealed that the witness, who is a certified election observer, told the five-man panel of judges that of all the results uploaded on INEC’s Result Viewing portal (IREV), only thirty-one percent were mathematically adding up.

He said; “We are very happy that today, the final report of an international observer group that was accredited by INEC, that is, the European Union Observer Mission, was tendered and admitted into evidence by the court. And a witness, who is a Director in INEC, read out the EU’s findings in that report, which clearly stated that the February 25 fell below expectations.

The witness also stated that only thirty-one percent of the results uploaded on IREV is mathematically correct. So, we think this is a very good one for our case.”
