The Speaker, House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas on Tuesday announced principal officers of the 10th House, tapping Prof. Julius Ihonvbere as Majority Leader.

Ihonvbere, a congressman for Edo State’s Owan Federal Constituency, served as the ninth House’s chairman of the committee on basic education.

Ihonvbere also served as Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president of Nigeria,’s special adviser on project monitoring and implementation. He also ran for governor of Edo State twice under the PDP.

In 2007, Prof. Osariemen Osunbor, a former governor of the state, defeated him in the first round of the governorship primary.

Usman Bello Kumo was named the House’s Chief Whip, and Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims was named the Deputy Majority Leader, according to him.

Kingsley Chinda is the House Minority Leader, while Adewumi Onanuga is the new Deputy Whip.

Additionally, Ali Isa serves as the Minority Whip for the House, and Aliyu Sani Madaki is the Deputy Minority Leader.
