Pa Ayo Adebanjo, the leader of Afenifere, the foremost Yoruba socio-cultural organization, responded to a question about President Bola Tinubu’s one month in office. During an interview with Arise TV, he stated that, Afenifere would refrain from giving any evaluation of Tinubu’s administration at this time. He explained that, there are ongoing legal challenges to his victory, and the organization will only make comments, once the Supreme Court confirms his election as president.

Despite being asked once more to provide his perspective as a statesman on the recent economic policies introduced by the Tinubu-led government, he maintained his refusal to make any remarks. Pa Adebanjo asserted that he wouldn’t comment on the policies, despite acknowledging that there is much to discuss, due to his belief that the process by which Tinubu assumed the presidency is flawed.

He asserted during the interview that, Currently, Afenifere has taken a stance of refraining from commenting on Tinubu’s administration. The organization holds the view that, the election process is still ongoing, hence their involvement in legal proceedings.

Pa Adebanjo further expressed that, untill the Supreme Court confirms Tinubu’s presidency, will he be able to provide his assessment of his administration, regardless of whether it is positive or negative. He clarified that, their concerns are not about Tinubu’s capabilities, but rather the flawed process through which he attained his position.

He concluded that, While there is much to discuss regarding Tinubu’s performance, Adebanjo emphasized that, he will abstain from making any comments on that matter at this time.
