The Sun paper reports that the Igbos must join together and establish a cohesive front in order to gain the respect they deserve in Nigeria, according to the deputy speaker of the Enugu House of Assembly. He added that if they continued to be divided, no one would respect them.

He laments that the idea of individualism must be fully abandoned and emphasizes that the Igbo will not leave Nigeria; they must receive what is owed to them.

In a private conversation with some Igbo business people in Lagos, the deputy speaker made this claim while discussing the suffering of the Igbo.

According to Uche Ugwu’s own words, “Over the past 8 years, the Igbo community lacked representation in the leadership of the national assembly. But now that this story has changed, there has been a huge shift. As represented by the crimson cap, the Igbo group currently holds the position of Deputy Speaker with pride.

“We strongly declare that we are determined to stay in Nigeria, our dear nation, and work to make a difference. We think that we should be given what is legitimately ours. There is no tolerance for idleness when our President has shown such a strong work ethic and dedication. Many of us give him our unshakable support because of this.
