During the July 2023 Thanksgiving Service, Pastor E.A. Adeboye shared a story about an incident that occurred in 1956. He spoke about staying with his uncle, who was poor and struggled to provide enough food.
On a particular day when they had nothing to eat, a young girl arrived carrying a bowl of pounded yam and chicken stew, claiming that her sister had sent it for them. Although his uncle didn’t know the girl or her sister, they accepted the food gratefully and started eating. However, the girl soon returned and apologized, realizing that she had delivered the food to the wrong house.
Reflecting on this incident, Pastor Adeboye emphasized the concept of God’s provision and introduced the term “Elshaddai,” which means the God who is more than enough. He shared this story to illustrate that even in desperate situations, God can intervene and provide miraculously. He concluded his message with a prayer, expressing his belief that miracles could happen to anyone, even if they were not originally intended for them.
