Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau have announced their separation after 18 years of marriage. The couple shared the decision on Instagram, stating that it followed “many meaningful and difficult conversations”. They emphasized that despite the separation, they remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for what they have built together. According to a report by Abc.net.au, both parties have signed a legal separation agreement.

Justin Trudeau took office as the Prime Minister of Canada in 2015 and has since been leading the country. Sophie Trudeau, a former model and TV host, has been an influential figure alongside her husband during his political career. The couple got married in 2005 and has three children together.

Despite their separation, the Trudeaus will still spend time together as a family and will be going on a holiday next week, as confirmed by Mr. Trudeau’s office.
