A Nigerian student trapped in Sudan cries out for help and claims that criminals are surrounding them

A Nigerian student currently stranded in Sudan has reported that he and other Nigerians are being surrounded by criminals amidst the fighting between soldiers loyal to Sudan’s army chief and his deputy, who heads the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Over 4,000 Nigerians are trapped due to the conflict, which has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of people in the capital city of Khartoum. They have no access to medicine, food, or water and are unable to leave due to lack of funds and an increase in criminal activity. While other countries are evacuating their citizens from Sudan, there is no information available regarding the evacuation of Nigerians.

Muhammad Nura Bello, the President of the Nigerian Students of Sudan International University, said that the situation was dire, with a total blackout and even Sudanese citizens fleeing. The Nigerian government is working to bring its citizens home.
