A former Nigerian lawmaker who represented Kaduna State, Sani Shehu, has advised Tinubu not to share the funds saved from the removal of the petrol subsidy with the governors. In his interview on Galaxy TV, the prominent politician revealed what the FG should do instead of disbursing such money to governors.

Shehu addressed the topic, saying, “We are in support of not paying subsidy to anyone, but this time around, the money should be put on the table for Nigerians to know what needs to be done. Nigerians should contribute their opinions on what should happen to the money saved from subsidy removal. I urge Tinubu not to share the money saved from fuel subsidy removal with Nigerian governors.

He added, “The previous governments were scared to remove fuel subsidy due to the fear of social consequences and the possibility of an uprising in Nigeria. I have previously protested against the removal of subsidy multiple times.
