Former Big Brother Naija reality star, Doyinsola Anuoluwapo David, simply known as Doyin, has made known her stance on abortion.
The reality star openly proclaimed herself as a pro-choice activist, advocating for the rights of pregnant women to make decisions about their own bodies.
Pro-choice is a belief that upholds a woman’s freedom to choose whether or not to have an abortion, particularly if she does not wish to proceed with a pregnancy.
During a recent episode of her podcast, Doyin’s Corner, she expressed her views on abortion, stating that she does not consider it to be murder when a pregnancy is terminated before the embryo develops into a fetus.
In her statement, she expressed her stance, saying, “First and foremost, I identify as pro-choice. There are specific circumstances and situations in which individuals find themselves where it is not easy to proceed with a pregnancy.
“Moreover, it’s not solely a matter of the challenges associated with keeping the baby; there are also health complications to consider. For instance, in cases of ectopic pregnancy, it becomes necessary to remove the pregnancy. Similarly, situations such as rape may also necessitate the termination of the pregnancy. In these particular circumstances, the considerations are vastly different.”
