During an interview with Arise , a former member of the APC presidential campaign council, Public Affairs, stated that the European Union only has 40 election observers in Nigeria, pointing out that where did they get their information from? He made the statement in reaction to the report given by the Union, which condemned the process through which the election was conducted.

Bola Bakare stated that the EU might have gathered their information from the media due to a lack of personnel across the state. He further stated that the process through which the election was conducted was free, fair, and credible.

According to him, “I’m talking in terms of where the EU got its information from. Based on the quote, its team Its team is made up of analysts in Abuja and 40 election observers. I’m not talking in terms of other observers that are local and whose own people can do the same thing; I’m talking in terms of EU observers, which were just about 40. So what we say in essence is that what they have is just about one person in every state, and then, for God’s sake, the rest of your information comes from what you hear in the media space. I’m conversant with the media space. I can listen to Arise, I can listen to all the studios in Nigeria, and then form an opinion.”
