The newly-appointed Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Hon. Godfrey Gaiya, has expressed his admiration for President Bola Tinubu’s decision to appoint Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa as the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS). In a report by the Sun, Gaiya claimed that the people of Southern Kaduna had endured the most difficult period during the eight years of the previous governor, Nasir El-Rufai. According to Gaiya, the region received no benefits from El-Rufai or former President Muhammadu Buhari, emphasizing that politics is about delivering tangible results.

He said:

“I am from Southern Kaduna, and the last eight years were very bad for us. We did not get even a councilor in the last eight years. We have somebody now who knows we are existing and in less than one month, we have gotten what we did not see for eight years. We have the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) from Southern Kaduna. To the glory of God, what he denied us in the last eight years is on our table now.”

He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for ensuring that the zone is no longer left empty-handed and that their needs are being addressed.

The appointment of Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa as the Chief of Defense Staff is seen by Gaiya as a positive step towards addressing the concerns of the Southern Kaduna region. He believes that this appointment signifies a shift in the government’s approach and a commitment to bringing tangible benefits to the neglected zone.

Gaiya further emphasized that the people of Southern Kaduna had been left without any significant developments or progress under the previous administration. However, he expressed hope that with President Tinubu’s administration, the region would experience positive changes and a fair distribution of resources.
