The Gubernatorial aspirant for PDP in Ogun State 2023 election, Segun Sowunmi has alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should form a government of National Unity just like his predecessor, General Olusegun Obasanjo. He identified that although he’s not in the same party as the President, he shares a common bond with him as a Yoruba man. He argued that the appointments being made by Tinubu so far are dominated by Yoruba people.
He said, ”That is why we are counseling him [Tinubu] to form a government of National Unity just like we had in the days of Former President Olusegun Obasanjo. Because the declared winner in the last election got a little over eight million, the second and third also got over six million. All these added together are not up to half of the voting population. Is it the eight million votes that will help you to cover all over the Nation, or do you think the Police and Soldiers will do the work, no! You need to bring everyone to the team for you to succeed.”
