The Reds have started bringing in new signings this summer as they look to prepare ahead of 2023/2024 season. Liverpool signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and they have now completed the signing of RB Leipzig star Szoboszlai.
The Reds struggled to perform well last season and their head coach Klopp was close to getting sacked following his poor run of results. The manager managed to turn things around mid-season but the team failed to finish top four in the premier league. Liverpool won’t play UEFA Champions League football next season but secured a spot in the Europa league.
The Hungary midfielder becomes the Reds’ second new addition of the summer window after agreeing terms and successfully completing a medical, following in the footsteps of Alexis Mac Allister.
Szoboszlai joins the Reds after two-and-a-half years in the Bundesliga with Leipzig, where he made 91 appearances in all competitions. The 22-year-old is Liverpool’s new No. 8, which is known as Steven Gerrard’s legendary jersey number. The 22-year-old has signed a five-year deal with the Premier League giants, keeping him at Anfield until 2028.
Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister may play alongside Fabinho at Liverpool next season.
Thiago Alcantara, Alexis Mac Allister and Szoboszlai may form a midfield partnership next season.
Trent Alexander-Arnold may also form a midfield partnership with Alexis Mac Allister and Szoboszlai.
