Pochettino begins work at Chelsea
Mauricio Pochettino begins life at his new club at their Cobham training ground today as the Argentine officially starts work at Chelsea this morning. The 51-year-old was dressed in a dark suit and appears to have had a small glow-up since he was pictured in the dugout at Soccer Aid. It’s a fresh start for the former Tottenham boss after being hired by Todd Boehly to replace Graham Potter, who was sacked in March. And with plenty of transfers still to be made, it could be a busy first day for Pochettino in his new office.
Man Utd second bid rejected
Manchester United have seen a second bid for Atalanta star Rasmus Hojlund rejected, reports say. The Red Devils have made the 20-year-old their number one striker target after being priced out of a move for Harry Kane. But the Italian club are ready to demand a huge fee to part ways with the Denmark international. United’s latest offer was said to be £40m, but their asking price is said to be at least £64m, according to 90Min. It remains to be seen whether United will meet their demands as Ten Hag desperately tries to get a striker in.
Tottenham out to snatch wonderkid off Barcelona
Spurs are hoping to make a last-ditch move on Barcelona-bound youngster Vitor Roque. A deal worth in the region of £30m has long been mooted for the Catalans to sign the Athletico Paranaense forward. But Mundo Deportivo claim Tottenham have not lost hope of pulling off a surprise transfer, with Roque’s Barcelona move not yet rubberstamped.
