I’ll Criticise Tinubu If He Fails To Deliver_ Fayose

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, on Thursday, said he would not hesitate to criticise President Bola Tinubu if he reneges on his campaign promises.
“If Asiwaju turns back on his promise, all he said when he was campaigning, I will be the first to talk. I am not timid,” Fayose told State House Correspondents shortly after a closed-door meeting with the President at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
However, he noted that Tinubu had done well since assuming office and should be encouraged.
Fayose argued that since the elections are over, Nigerians must rally around the president whom he said is alert and ready to tackle the problems of the country.
The steps so far taken can readily give us the direction of this government. Elections have come and gone, without prejudice to the courts.
“But it’s no more time for campaigning or selling a political party, it is time to govern Nigeria for the benefit of children yet unborn and those of us that are still here and to equally let you know that I had a very wonderful time with the President.
“You will see him very alert and very clear in the direction he wants to take the country, but he can’t do it alone, he needs all of us,” said Fayose.

So soon after the Moslem season of spiritual purification, it is sad to see the ancient city of Ilorin, a confluence of faiths and ethnic varieties, reduced to this level of bigotry and intolerance, manifested in the role of a presiding monarch. The truncation of a people’s traditional festival is a crime against the cultural heritage of all humanity. Year after year, the Ramadan has been celebrated in this nation as an inclusive gathering of humanity, irrespective of divergences of belief. Not once, in my entire span of existence, have I encountered pronouncements by followers of any faith that the slaughtering of rams on the streets and market places is an offence to their concept of godhead. Vegetarians hold their peace. Buddhists walk a different path. Prior to Ramadan, non-Moslems routinely join in observing the preceding season of fasting as a spiritual exercise worthy of emulation.
Perhaps this is another occasion for self-introduction. I currently teach courses in Abu Dhabi in the Emirates. That is the region of Origin, all others are mere appendages. I was there just before Christmas. I passed through again in the countdown to Ramadan. On both occasions, the streets, businesses, hotel lobbies and other public spaces were lit up with the same festive spirit. Only the symbols within the designs were different. The mood of celebration was equally pervasive and inclusive. Painfully, my mind could not help but travel back home, and some years past, recalling for instance how a procession of Corpus Christ was once attacked, some killed, by a brood of Moslem fanatics, for daring to process along the streets of that same Ilorin. Needless to say, such abominations have become routine. Community is sacrificed to bigotry.

Mallam Ahmed Moyosore (Moyo) Jaji, chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is former Executive Secretary of Ojodu Local Council Development Area. In this interview, he insisted that no election in the world is without flaws and dismissed the recent European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) report on the 2023 election. He insists that the victory of Tinubu has come to stay and that whatever flaws noticed during the election cannot take pre-eminence over societal wellbeing. He also discussed other national issues.
The 2023 general elections are done with but a lot of issues still surround the conduct of the Independent National Electoral Commission and how promises were made and not fulfilled, especially regarding the real-time upload of the presidential election result on the INEC viewing portal (IRev), which gave room for doubt and suspicion on the integrity and transparency of the election, what is your take?
People may accuse me of bias because I am an All Progressives Congress (APC) member but I think what happened was that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) outsmarted the politicians. The courts have affirmed that INEC is at liberty to decide how, when and the manner of declaring election results. Intelligence report suggests that there were sinister plots to manipulate the bimodal voter accreditation system (BVAS) by some political parties so that whatever INEC uploads to the IRev the BVAS will download a different thing that will favour those behind the manipulation. There is an audio tape where some principal opposition leaders were discussing how to beat the system before the election.
Nigeria Is Safe For Foreign Investors–Akpabio

THE President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio has assured foreign investors of the safety of their investments in Nigeria.
He has reiterated that President Bola Tinubu-led commitment of the Fede Government would provide a conducive business environment for Foreign investors in the country.
Senator Akpabio who spoke yesterday in Abuja when he received in his office, the JAMPUR INTERNATIONAL GROUP FZE, led by the CEO, Mohanmed Shafiq, said, ” I welcome you on behalf of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Nigeria is very safe and ready for investors. I am aware you are already investing in Nigeria in the area of mining, power and trading. Thank you for employing Nigerians in your companies”.
In a statement from his Media Office, yesterday night, Akpabio noted that the decision of the Federal Government to put in place a single rate for foreign exchange was a deliberate attempt by the government to further assure foreign investors of the safety of their investments anywhere in the country.
The President of the Senate said, “The current administration has been able to normalize our foreign exchange rate by having only one window. Investing in Nigeria is worth the while because of the returns in investments based on our population of over 200 million and the land mass.
