Tinubu opens defence at tribunal, tenders academic records from Chicago State University

President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima have opened their case at the presidential election petition court.

At the resumed session on Tuesday, Wole Olanipekun, counsel to Tinubu and Shettima, tendered several documents in their defence, including the president’s academic documents from the Chicago State University.

The documents tendered are itemised below.

A letter from the Nigeria police to the United States embassy dated February 3, 2023.

A letter from the United States embassy to the Nigeria police dated February 4, 2023.

12 documents of the 2nd respondent (Tinubu) containing educational records from the Chicago State University.

Six documents detailing US visas and immigration documents between 2011 and 2021. All were duly certified by the Nigeria Immigration Service on July 3, 2023.

Copy of reports of the committee on the location of the federal capital territory of Nigeria. The document is certified by the Archives and History Bureau of the FCT, with payment receipts attached dated April 13, 2023.

A copy of form EC8D for Kano state in respect of the February 25th presidential election.

A copy of form EC8D(A) in respect of the February 25th presidential election.

Originating summons in SC/CV/354/2023 dated February 28, 2023, filed by the AGs of Adamawa, Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo and Sokoto states.

Delta FA Partners Hideaplus To Boost Development

In a deliberate move to boost football development in Delta State, the Delta State Football Association (DFA) has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a sports marketing outfit, Hideaplus Limited.

The DFA Chairman, Mr. Ken Nwomucha, said it has been tough running the game in a state with huge followership.

He further expressed his satisfaction and optimism that the partnership would be successful with very convincing results

“Getting sponsors for programmes is not an easy task but very herculean in every sense of it but being in partnership with Hideaplus Limited is a great relief, we expect all to be smooth now with great results especially for the youth.” Nwomucha stated.

Hideaplus, a very successful marketing outfit is poised to change the narrative of sponsorship of DFA programmes for more edifying and beneficial strategies for the two parties in the partnership.

The CEO of Hideaplus Limited, Mr. Tony Pemu, has assured a free flow of communication between the two parties as the primary result goes beyond signing the MOU but to ensure that the partnership works perfectly for the end results that must be of mutual benefit for all parties.

Nigerian Army’ll partner state govts to further strengthen security – Gen Lagbaja

The Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, has promised to partner with the governments of the 36 states in Nigeria with a view to further ensuring peace and stability across the country.

He made this known on Tuesday when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State in Ibadan, the state capital, in connection with the 160th anniversary of the Nigerian Army, holding in the state.

Lagbaja stated that the partnership is very imperative in order to ensure that the security architecture of the country is strengthened.
