Absence Of Witness Stalls Hearing In Rhodes-Vivours Petition

The hearing in the petition filed by the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, seeking to nullify the return of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy was stalled at the Tribunal on Monday owing to the absence of the petitioners’ witness.

The witness was scheduled to testify before the Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal headed by Justice Arum Ashom.

So far, the petitioner, Rhodes-Vivour has called 10 witnesses in proof of his petition. Monday’s witness would have been the 11th.

The first Federal Capital Territory minister, Chief Mobolaji Ajose-Adeogun, is reportedly dead.

The business titan aged 96 died on Saturday, July 1, 2023.

His death was confirmed by a member of the family, Oluremi Ajose-Adeogun, in a statement she wrote on behalf of the family which was obtained by our correspondent on Monday.

Niger State Residents Find Baby Alive On Mum’s Back Day After Terrorists Shot Her Dead

Aseven-month-old baby boy, Habibu has been found sleeping on his mother’s back 24 hours after she was shot dead by terrorists locally dubbed as bandits on the Pandogari-Allawa road in Shiroro, Niger State.

According to Daily Trust, the bandits had blocked the Pandogari-Allawa road a day to Sallah and shot six passengers, including an SS 2 student of the Maryam Babangida Girls’ Science College, Minna, Hauwa Aliyu, and the mother of the baby to death.

The President of Lakpma Youth Assembly, Jibril Allawa, revealed that, “Miraculously, the baby was one of the survivors of the attack in which six people were killed. Vigilantes who went the following day to evacuate the remains of the victims found the baby sleeping on his dead mother’s back.”

Confusion As OAUTH Gets Two CMDs

There has been confusion at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife, Osun State, following the appointment of two persons as acting Chief Medical Directors for the facility within one week.

Sources in the hospital said Prof Oladiran Adegbehingbe was made the acting CMD of the hospital in a letter dated June 22, 2023, signed by Hassan Sallahu, Director Human Resources, on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health.

Adegbehingbe was said to have assumed duty immediately he got the letter and was even at the ministry in Abuja on Monday where he was introduced to the officials.
