Professor Okey Ikechukwu, an expert in Human Capital Development, commented on President Bola Tinubu’s initial 30 days in office. He claimed that, the President’s immediate action of removing fuel subsidy, on his first day in office, conveyed a significant message to the Nigerian people.

He stated in the video that, The statement made on the day of inauguration, clearly reflects a desire to assert authority and proclaim, “I am in control.” It signifies the intention to make it known that, any decisions or plans will be presented, and implemented without hesitation. President Tinubu’s initial day in office, brought about both excitement and concern among Nigerians.

He continued, However, he observed both an intriguing and concerning aspect, regarding the decision made. While many individuals agreed that, fuel subsidy needed to be abolished, the President’s demeanor has not demonstrated, how to adequately allete the distress caused by its removal.

He further said that, The exciting aspect is his courage to speak out, and take action against what is perceived as fraud. However, the worrisome aspect is the sudden, and consequential announcement made in a democratic setting, which raises significant concerns.
