Senator Adams Oshiomhole used a post-inauguration/thank-you party held in his honor to dismiss those who questioned his and Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ability to win elections. He proclaimed that when Tinubu becomes president, Edo State will undergo a transformation surpassing even the achievements of Lagos. Oshiomhole emphasized Tinubu’s newfound authority as the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, further solidifying his influence and dispelling any doubts regarding their political control.
Former Governor of Edo State and current federal lawmaker, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, took the opportunity to ridicule those who doubted his and Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ability to win elections. He expressed his sentiments during a post-inauguration/thank-you party held in his honor at his residence in Iyamho, Etsako, Edo. Oshiomhole, who previously served as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, confidently declared that when Tinubu becomes president, those who claim that Edo is not like Lagos will witness its transformation. He further stated that Tinubu would not only make Edo similar to Lagos but even surpass it in terms of development.
“Tinubu said those who say Edo no be Lagos will be alive when he becomes president. He will not only make Edo like Lagos but better than Lagos.”
He further stated:
“So my people, those who say ‘Edo no be Lagos, Tinubu cannot control us,’ please tell them Tinubu is now Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces.”
Addressing the gathering, Oshiomhole, a former President of the Nigerian Labour Congress, exclaimed, “So my people, those who insist that ‘Edo is not Lagos’ and that Tinubu cannot influence us, please inform them that Tinubu is now the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces.” This statement emphasized the newfound power and influence that Tinubu possesses, signaling his rise to a prominent political position.
He stated; “During the campaign, I told you if you want to give me one vote, give it to Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I am very proud to say and to repeat today here and now that in each of these six local governments areas, in every ward, Bola Ahmed Tinubu won, in every ward Adams Oshiomhole won,”
Oshiomhole’s remarks aimed to discredit the skepticism surrounding their electoral capabilities, portraying Tinubu as a figure of authority who can shape the future of Edo State. By asserting that Tinubu will not only exert control over the state but also surpass the accomplishments of Lagos, Oshiomhole sought to instill confidence in his supporters and undermine the doubters. The celebratory gathering provided an opportune platform for Oshiomhole to express his optimism and rally support for their political ambitions.
