The INEC Commissioner on Voter Education, Mr Festus Keyamo, has noted that there is no country in the world that doesn’t have institutions that resolved both electoral and constitutional matters, most especially in a democratic settings.
Speaking further, Mr Okoye noted that as an electoral management body, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC will harvest all those recommendations that were made by the EU Election Observers, as it regards to the conduct of the just concluded presidential election, in the area of administrative issues and implement them.
Mr Festus Keyamo made this disclosure when he was interviewed by journalists, as he was reacting to the report that was given by the EU Election Observers, as it regards to the conduct of the election.
He said: “But one thing is certain, there is no country in the world that doesn’t have institutions that resolve both constitutional and electoral matters, especially in democratic settings.”
Furthermore, he made it known that the EU Election Observers also made recommendations in the area of constitutional and legal issues, noting that the commission will look at them and see the one the national assembly can deal with, so that they will forward them to the national assembly.
It should be recalled that the EU Election Observers, recently released their report, regarding the conduct of the just concluded presidential election. The EU Election Observers marked the INEC poorly and also made some recommendations. Be it as it may, Nigerians are waiting ti see the move that will be made by the INEC in the next election.
