Joke Silva, the ace Nollywood actress, says Olu Jacobs, her husband of 37 years, “is no longer there” but she still loves him.
Recall that In November 2021, the filmmaker disclosed that her celebrity hubby, Olu Jacobs, 80, was battling dementia.
However, in a recent interview with her colleague and presenter, Nancy Isime, she revealed more about her husband’s health status and her struggle taking care of him.
She said her relationship with the retired movie star is becoming more of “a father and daughter relationship” as his health is deteriorating and 80 percent of his old self is no longer there.
“I have to be very honest, it has not been easy. In the early years when it started we did not even realize that it has started,” she said.
Going further, she said, “We were just like why are you behaving like this? But when the deterioration became a bit more rapid, I bore my eyes out. Then now came a point of acceptance that this is it. This is the reality. It is what it is. And it is almost like the person you married, 80 percent of the time is no longer there.
