According to strategic management and human capital development professor Okey Ikechukwu, who was interviewed by Arise, said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s high public impression is as a result of him having succeeded a do-nothing predecessor. According to Prof. Ikechukwu, former President Muhammadu Buhari had lost all enthusiasm for politics and showed no drive to improve himself while in office.

Prof. Okey Ikechukwu claimed that President Tinubu’s inclusiveness was on display in his decision to designate him as a service leader. On the other hand, he cautioned that the president’s incapacity to deal with the various problems that have developed since the start of his term would only create more problems in the long run. Although he advocated for the president to cut off subsidies, he also suggested that the administration provide medications to the populace in an effort to quell the unrest.
