The Deputy Speaker Of Enugu House Of Assembly, has said that nobody would respect the Igbo if they persisted in their state of disunity, adding that they must come together and form a unified front in order to earn the respect they deserve in Nigeria.
He also lament that the notion of individualism must be completely discarded, emphasizing that the Igbo Will not run away from Nigeria; whatever that is due for them must come to them
The deputy speaker made this statement during a private chat with some Igbo businessmen in Lagos, where he spoke about the plight of the Igbo
In his own words, Uche Ugwu said “Over the past eight years, the Igbo community lacked representation in the national assembly leadership. However, a significant shift has occurred as we now witness a change in this narrative. Presently, the Igbo community proudly holds the position of Deputy Speaker, symbolized by the red cap.
“We firmly assert our commitment to remain in Nigeria, our beloved country, and strive to make positive contributions. We believe that what rightfully belongs to us should be rightfully granted. Our President has demonstrated a strong work ethic and determination, leaving no room for idle moments. It is for this reason that many of us offer our unwavering support to him”
