Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who represents Anambra South in the Senate, “has urged Biafran activist Simon Ekpa to focus his sit-at-home campaign in his own Ebonyi state rather than in Anambra state.”
During the Anambra South zone stakeholders meeting on Monday, Senator Ubah gave this warning to Ekpa.
Remember that, “despite the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, mainstream leadership discontinuing the exercise, Ekpa has been a prominent supporter of sit-at-home orders in the South Eastern states.”
Ubah, however, “voiced concerns about security and the economy as a result of the Monday sit-at-home edict, advocating for its termination, beginning in Nnewi.” Vanguard reports.
On Monday, the congressman issued a warning to Ekpa, “telling him to avoid giving instructions while doing his duties in Finland.”
He continued, “I have heard from one Simon Ekpa. This is a caution Simon, you have mentioned Ifeanyi Ubah 17 times in good faith, and I have not responded. Ifeanyi Ubah and Nnewi should never be brought up again despite your 17 sincere attempts to get my attention.” According to vanguard.
“Your condition The APC state of Ebonyi is one that you have never once mentioned. While you are in Finland running for councillor or whatever office you are seeking, and you attend work on Mondays, Ebonyi does not respect the sit-at-home rule.”
However, “you want to deprive people since you have communication tools and the ability to spread misinformation online.” He said.
According to him, “The people of Anambra South are represented by me as an elected officer of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. You Simon Ekpa and your travelling companions should start preaching the sit-at-home message from Ebonyi before moving on to mention Anambra State and Enugu if you ever bring up the topic again.”
“You have mentioned me 17 times and I will only respond once. Try me and you will see, I am warning you, Simon Ekpa. I won’t say anything else. Go and observe sit-at-home in Ebonyi, as well as go and observe sit-at-home in your community with your family, and leave Anambra State alone,” Ubah said.
The congressman emphasised that, “they will be unwavering in their resolve to revoke any direction to stay at home in spite of attempts by spies to meddle in their affairs.”
Vanguard further reported, “We deem it fit to say we will not continue to sit at home on Mondays,” he declared on behalf of the people of Anambra State, noting that Nnewi North is the political centre of Anambra South.”
