The Sultan’s remarks have sparked a wave of reactions across Nigeria. Supporters argue that his comments highlight the urgent need to address the spread of false information online, which can incite violence and unrest. Critics, however, view his statements as an attack on freedom of expression and a potential pretext for increased censorship.

This development adds to the ongoing debate in Nigeria regarding the regulation of social media. In recent years, there have been calls for stricter controls to prevent the misuse of these platforms, while others advocate for the protection of digital rights and freedom of speech.
