Meanwhile, leaders from the Niger Delta region have also thrown their weight behind President Tinubu’ s decision to remove fuel subsidies. They called on the leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) to reconsider their stance on the subsidy withdrawal. These leaders argue that any action against fuel subsidy removal would inadvertently support the fraudulent practices associated with the subsidy and harm the masses.

The support from influential figures across different regions of Nigeria highlights the growing recognition of President Tinubu’ s commitment to making tough choices for the greater good of the nation. The removal of fuel subsidies has been a contentious issue, with concerns over its impact on the masses and the economy. However, the Sultan and the Niger Delta leaders believe that looking beyond short- term difficulties and embracing necessary reforms will lead to a brighter future for the country.

President Tinubu’ s administration appears determined to prioritize development and peace, recognizing the importance of unity in achieving progress. The government’ s commitment to supporting traditional institutions also underscores the acknowledgment of their role in the nation’ s progress.

While there might be short- term challenges resulting from the subsidy removal, the overall consensus among these influential leaders is that embracing these tough decisions will pave the way for a more economically sustainable and prosperous Nigeria in the long run.
